Original GreenStar Display

This display was the original GreenStar unit produced by John Deere. It delivered its content in black and white, with a user friendly push-button interface and menu-driven commands. This allowed a user to input information, and view on-the-go operational data, such as parallel tracking, moisture sampling, and yield monitoring.

After its introduction in 1989 in select CTS combines, many John Deere machines and implements came with a GreenStar Display. To add AMS applications, a Mobile Processor, KeyCard and StarFire iTC™ are required.

The GreenStar 2 2600 Display

The GreenStar™ 2(GS2) 2600 is a 10.4-in. color touch-screen display. It features a proven full-color screen that allows the operator to configure and simultaneously view multiple applications on any home page. Additionally, the GreenStar displays offer many different mounting options depending on preference and/or cab type. The GS2 2600 is only compatible on the C-post of 9030 Series MST tractors.

The GreenStar 2 1800 Display

The GreenStar 2 (GS2) 1800 is a 7-in. color display. It features state-of-the-art, full-color screens that allow the operator to configure multiple home pages and quickly toggle through them to monitor many applications that may be running at the same time. The integrated display control features a scroll wheel and 14 buttons.

GreenStar 3 2630 Display

The John Deere GreenStar™ 3 (GS3) 2630 Display is a 10.4-in. color display that features a full-color touch screen for controlling a variety of AMS applications, vehicles, and implements. The GS3 2630 also allows operators to set up multiple home pages and navigate to each home page easily and efficiently, all while other applications are in use. The GS3 2630 is specifically designed for customers who desire maximum efficiency, productivity, and premium features.

GreenStar 3 Command Center

The GreenStar 3 (GS3) Command Center is the central information system used on all new R Series tractors and S Series combines. It is located on the end of the CommandARM™ or on the right-hand console. The GS3 Command Center allows the operator to program various settings and tailor the readings to a specific operation as it is displayed on a 178-mm (7-in.) color display is divided into three regions: left hand, center, and right hand.

The left-hand region can be configured by the operator to monitor three tractor functions of their choice. The right-hand region shows the shortcut keys to desired information. Operators can program additional shortcut keys that appear in the right-hand region. The center region either shows the main home pages or displays the information relative to the current settings the operator is adjusting.

Gen 4 – 4600 Integrated Server Upgrade

John Deere has recently made some significant changes in their integrated line of Gen 4 4600 displays that can be found in our Model Year 14-17 6R, 7R, 8R and 9R tractors. This results in some new features and capabilities that you cannot get without the updated server which will allow you to load 18-1 software, or newer. If you currently have a Premium Activation, John Deere will offer programs that may pay for part of or in some cases all of the cost to make this upgrade. This depends upon change factors such as to the Model Year of the tractor (must have the premium activation installed) or the purchase of a model year 2018 electric drive planter.

Even if your tractor does not qualify for John Deere’s assistance in the upgrade, the costs to do so are affordable and can be combined with a discounted rate to purchase an AutoTrac, Premium or upgrade from AutoTrac to Premium Activation at a reduced price.
Model Year 2018 Sprayers, Combines and Tractors will be equipped with the Version 2 Server.

StarFire 3000 Receiver

The StarFire™ 3000 is a 66-channel, multi-frequency differential Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver. Standard features on the StarFire 3000 Receiver include: access to satellite signals from both the GPS and GLONASS satellites for SF1, SF2, or RTK correction level, true 3-D integrated terrain compensation, and upgradable accuracy.

These features allow the StarFire 3000 Receiver to provide more reliable positioning in areas with intermittent satellite availability or in other uncontrollable satellite environments. The StarFire 3000 also responds faster and more accurately to changes in terrain. The level of accuracy can be increased on the StarFire 3000 without having to purchase a new receiver.

StarFire iTC Receiver

The StarFire iTC is a dual-band GPS receiver providing scalable accuracy and integrated terrain compensation. Effective 25 June 2010, the StarFire iTC is no longer available. It has been replaced by the StarFire 3000.

StarFire 300 Receiver

StarFire 300 is a WAAS-enabled GPS receiver with 13-in. pass-to-pass accuracy. It is a great fit for Parallel Tracking™ or documentation purposes, such as Field Doc™ or Harvest Doc™.

StarFire RTK 450 Radio

The StarFire 450 RTK Radio is designed to be used in areas with challenging terrain and/or dense foliage conditions to increase signal coverage and maintain RTK accuracy where the StarFire 900 RTK Radio signal strength is not sufficient.

The 450 is needed to obtain RTK accuracy and is paired with a StarFire iTC Receiver and can be used on a base station or vehicle.

StarFire RTK 900 Radio

The StarFire 900 RTK Radio is designed to be used in areas with flat or rolling terrain with minimal foliage. The StarFire 900 RTK Radio base station can be set up anywhere as a mobile or permanent base station as it does not require a license from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The StarFire 900 RTK Radio is needed to obtain RTK accuracy and is paired with an Original StarFire, StarFire iTC, or StarFire 3000 Receiver and can be used on a base station or vehicle.

StarFire 6000 Receiver

Customize accuracy and repeatability to meet the needs of an operation. The StarFire 6000 Receiver offers multiple differential correction signal levels to match receiver performance with the needs of the operation and has two features that reduce the amount of time required to achieve full accuracy, or pull-in, when using SF1 or SF3. Hours on after shutdown is a user-configurable feature that allows the receiver to remain powered on for up to 24 hours (0-, 3-, 6-, 12-, and 24-hour options) after the machine is powered down. If the machine is parked outside and the receiver has a clear view of the sky during this  time, it will continue to track satellites and retain accuracy. There is no need for the receiver to  complete a new pull-in if the machine is started within this defined period.

QuickStart is a feature that can help reduce StarFire pull-in time if hours on after shutdown has expired or is not used. QuickStart works when the machine is shut down and the receiver is able to save a known location (must have a clear view of the sky and good SF1/SF3 accuracy). When the receiver is powered back on, it can recover to full accuracy in less than 6 minutes if the machine is not moved during this time window. There is no need for the receiver to complete a new pull-in if the machine is not moved before the QuickStart completes.

AMS Activations

Application Controller

Application Controller enables the use of two different products, iSteer™ and iGrade™. This single controller reduces the number of controllers on a tractor and allows customers to benefit from active implement guidance and automated land leveling.

The Application Controller must have an activation associated with it, either an iGrade activation or an iSteer activation – or both.

GreenStar 2 Activation

These components team up with an implement steering mechanism to provide increased implement precision.

With the iSteer system, both the tractor and the implement follow the same guidance line in straight, circle, and curve track applications. Growers who are planting bedded crops, planting row crops, or strip-tilling as well as those operating in stand row-crop application can capitalize on the value of iSteer.

Customers will experience many benefits with iSteer:

  • The ability to maintain high crop quality with multiple passes through the field
  • Precise input placement, reducing operator fatigue
  • Industry-exclusive implement control at the operator's fingertips

iGuide - iGuide is a passive implement guidance system that automatically guides the implement onto the guidance path. iGuide requires an integrated steering kit on the tractor along with GreenStar™ 2 2600, StarFire™ receivers, RTK signal level, and the appropriate implement hardware to operate.
